Portage DD Announcement - Keeping Families Together Funding

We are grateful the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) has awarded the Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities the Keeping Families Together Grant. This grant will assist Portage DD in supporting youth with complex needs. Over the years, we have added numerous programs to serve better the youth in Portage County who are eligible for services. Portage DD funds two respite programs where youth can go either for a few hours or days to get much-needed respite for the youth and parents. Portage DD also added supportive measures for parents, such as a parent support group to help them deal with their son or daughter with complex needs. As an agency, Portage DD is also looking to assist with finding technology solutions for families and will open a demo technology apartment to showcase all the technological benefits available to support youth and their families.

Ultimately, the money will go towards avoiding out-of-home placements and keeping families together in Portage County.
