DSP Award Recipient - Ashleigh Lawrence
The Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities is proud to recognize Ashleigh Lawrence as the Portage DD Direct Support Professional (DSP) Award Recipient. Ashleigh is an Independent Provider and works for Unified Resources Recreation and was nominated Katrina Schamblen.
Here is what Katrina had to say about Ashleigh:
Ashleigh does a lot for me. She supports me in ensuring that I have my needs met. She helps schedule and take me to doctor's appointments. She also helps me to get to the activities that I want to participate in. She is a good provider; she talks to me and helps me through different situations. She gives me choices and explains the different options. If I'm upset, she makes me feel better. She treats me nicely and makes feel good.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Month Award is for those staff who provide direct support or direct services for individuals served throughout Portage County.
This award is an opportunity to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities while also promoting independence and inclusion.
Individual award recipients will receive public recognition from Portage DD and be promoted on our social media channels. Award recipients will also later be considered for Direct Support Professional of the Year.
All nominations will be kept on file for review and consideration for a period of 12 months after initial submission.
