DSP Award Recipient - Roger Way

The Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities is proud to recognize Roger Way as the Portage DD Direct Support Professional (DSP) Award Recipient. Roger works for Hiram Farm and was nominated by Leeanne Saro Jereb

Here is what Leeanne had to say about Roger:

Roger is always willing to jump in to help with extra shifts and cares deeply about each of the farmers at Hiram Farm. He has been at the farm over 8 years and is amazing at communicating with families as he picks up and drops off the farmers each day while sometimes doing additional shifts between driving. He is creative in finding meaningful work for the farmers each day he works a DSP shift at the farm. Often times our drivers are unsung hero's but they are an important part of the team! He always has a teamwork approach and teaches new staff about the importance of teamwork. During this staffing shortage he has picked up so many shifts so that farmers could still come to work to have a meaningful day!

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Month Award is for those staff who provide direct support or direct services for individuals served throughout Portage County.

This award is an opportunity to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities while also promoting independence and inclusion.

Individual award recipients will receive public recognition from Portage DD and be promoted on our social media channels. Award recipients will also later be considered for Direct Support Professional of the Year.

All nominations will be kept on file for review and consideration for a period of 12 months after initial submission.
