January DSP Award Recipient - Kelly Prigmore

The Portage County Board of Developmental Disabilities is proud to recognize Kelly Prigmore as the Portage DD Direct Support Professional (DSP) Award Recipient for the month of January.  Kelly is an Independent Provider and was nominated by  Portage DD SSA, Jill Gunther.

Here is what she had to say about Kelly:

When 2 individuals, Nate and Mary were in a family crisis, Kelly without hesitation agreed for both to come and live with her. She gave no judgement, time frame or limitations just opened her home to whatever they needed. They have been staying with her for 5 months now and it has been decided that her home will be their forever home. She has gone above and beyond caring for their needs and interests. They are so happy and healthy and consider Kelly and her family their family. now. She has provided not only care but has given them the provisions that they need, clean clothes, personal products and food without asking for anything in return. They have been included in family outings, picnics, BBQs, and events. Kelly has been a loving and truly unselfish provider through this whole process and if you ask her how Nate and Mary are doing she will respond "They are loved."

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Month Award is for those staff who provide direct support or direct services for individuals served throughout Portage County.
