Awareness Notice

The Ohio Benefits Project Team is providing awareness that on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 and Thursday, February 20, 2020, approximately 15,000 individuals received incorrect Medicaid Discontinuance Notifications via County Shared Services and Interactive Voice Response (CSS/IVR) voice and or SMS messaging.

The Project Team has identified those impacted and is planning to send follow-up voice and SMS communications to those impacted asking them to please disregard the initial erroneous notifications.

These follow-up calls and texts are targeted to reach impacted individuals on Monday, February 24, 2020 and Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

For counties who may receive phone calls from individuals, please see below for the specific breakdown of those impacted:

• 7,046 individuals were incorrectly notified that their Medicaid was discontinued; and

• 7,738 individuals previously discontinued in December 2019 inadvertently received a repeat message confirming they are discontinued.
