#WorkingWednesday Inclusive Employer: Hattie Larlham

As we prepare to wind down our celebration of developmental disabilities awareness and pride month, we felt it was fitting to name Hattie Larlham as our inclusive business award winner for March 2022.

Since 1961, Hattie Larlham has provided the highest quality services and programs to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to providing much-needed services and programs to individuals with disabilities, Hattie Larlham employs hundreds of people who work throughout Northeast and Central Ohio to provide care and support to children and adults with disabilities. The organization has grown to include residential, medical, recreational, educational, and work training and employment services.

Their employee, Michelle Reed, said this about working at Hattie's "I like my job…no, I love my job! I love going to work; I love that I get to make money! I like my bosses; they are all very nice to me! I get to learn new things, try new things, and see what I like to do best. I really like doing laundry the best, taking good care of the kid's clothes!".

"As an organization that provides service and support to people with disabilities, compassion, and inclusion are at the very core of Hattie Larlham's mission. Our top priority has always been to provide people with the very best opportunities to thrive, and that extends to the people we serve, our employees, and our communities. Every person has something to offer the world, and our goal is always to cultivate environments for those talents to shine. We are honored to be recognized as an inclusive employer and remain dedicated to empowering people of all abilities to succeed." – Neil Everett, Vice President, Human Resources
