How long have you worked here? 30 years!

Nena White was working  at Portage Industries when she started volunteering at Reed Memorial Library. She quickly decided she would like to work there. With the initial support of a Job Coach, she started working and continued for 30 years! Nena retired in February of 2020 with Full Retirement Benefits from the State of Ohio for her 30 years of Public Service. During her 30 years Nena saw several supervisors and lots of coworkers, come and go but what was important was that they were all her friends as well as her coworkers. Nena was born and raised in Ravenna , though she attended school in Rootstown where she graduated in 1973. When asked Nena said that the Library was the only place she ever wanted to work. She enjoyed her 30 years of shelving books, DVDs, and magazines and encourages everyone to get a job as because she says it feels good to get out of the house and see people. Her retirement plans include attending the CADS program through Coleman Adult Services, spending time with family and playing on social media. Congratulations Nena on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for 30 years of Public Service.
