Tim was nominated by Service and Support Administrator Cynthia Saunders. See what she had to say below:

Tim Baker is one of the most caring and considerate people in transportation. He is truly genuine and always willing to go beyond the call of duty. He shows grace and patience each day; whether it’s taking up trash cans for an elderly parent, buying lunch for someone that left their lunchbox at home, or walking someone to and from the vehicle that may be feeling a little unsteady. He stops by the board office to talk with SSA’s about concerns, even if they are not related to transportation. He is always there for those sad times like funerals, to lend an ear, as well as happy times. He never forgets a birthday and has been known to show up to root the athletes on at Special Olympic events.  To Tim this is just part of the job, which is why he has been selected as Portage DD’s Direct Support Professional for the month of April.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Month Award is for those staff who provide direct support or direct services for individuals served throughout Portage County.

This award is an opportunity to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, while also promoting independence and inclusion.

Individual award recipients will receive public recognition from Portage DD and will be promoted on our social media channels. Award recipients will also later be considered for Direct Support Professional of the Year.

All nominations will be kept on file for review and consideration for a period of 12 months after initial submission.
