Message From The Superintendent - December 2023

Greetings! 

We hope everyone is doing well! Here are the updates.     

We wanted to thank everyone for their hard work and support that assisted us in getting our renewal levy passed for the next ten years. Special thanks go to the People for Portage DD Levy Committee for their tireless work passing the levy. I am thankful and appreciative of all the staff, the Portage DD Board, and the Portage County community that overwhelmingly showed their support by the election results. Thank you. 

We hope that the rate increases for independent and agency providers will make a dent in the direct support professional crisis (DSP). The rate increase will take place starting Monday, January 1, 2024. We hope the rate increase will provide more options and choices for the individuals we serve and their families.  

November was National Gratitude Month. We want to express our gratitude to all the individuals, families, providers, Portage DD staff, Portage DD Board, and Portage DD community that help to enrich the lives of so many wonderful people. We are truly fortunate to be here on the journey together, supporting people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential and have a great life! Thank you all!
