In preparation for the 2025 Limitless Art Show, open to persons receiving or eligible to receive services by Portage DD, Portage DD is hosting Art Nights.  We have one day left.   

Art Night at the Pierce Streetsboro Library

March is national DD Awareness month. We have the month packed full of great activities.  See below.

DD Awareness day at the ohio statehouse watch party
LOCATION: Happy Day Services - 2500 Brady Lake Road, Ravenna
DATE & TIME: Tuesday, March 4, from 9:00-11:00 am
INFO: Each March every year, hundreds of advocates come to the Ohio Statehouse to advocate on issues important to Ohioans with developmental disabilities. Join us to watch virtually the DD Awareness Day activities at the Ohio Statehouse.  Lite refreshments provided. For more information, contact Eric Larsen at ericl@portagedd.org or (330) 774-0349. 

Movie Night - Captain america: brave new world (pg-13)
LOCATION: Ravenna 7 Movie Theater - 215 W. Cedar Avenue, Ravenna
DATE & TIME: Monday, March 10that 6:00 pm
INFO: Movie, 12 oz. drink and boxed popcorn at no cost to persons served by Portage DD and up to three guests. RSVP required to events@portagedd.org or by calling 330-296-2839 ext. 3148, when registering please provide name of person served, number of guest and a contact number.

L.E.A.P. advocacy meeting
LOCATION: Reed Memorial Library, Jenkins Room - 167 E Main Street, Ravenna
DATE & TIME: Tuesday, March 11th, from 10:00-11:00 am.

Community Game Night
LOCATION: Horseshoe Diner - 250 W. Main Street, Ravenna
DATE & TIME: Thursday, March 13th from 5:30-7:30 pm
INFO: Join us for fun playing games provided by Battlegrounds Game Center.  Drop in anytime during the event to take a turn playing various games or come to watch others play and enjoy some conversation. Great opportunity to get to know others in our community! Lite refreshments provided.   Free and open to the public.

Hike Club
LOCATION: Sunny Lake Park - 885 Mennonite Road, Aurora

Smart Home Open House
LOCATION: 513 North Park Drive, Ravenna
DATE & TIME: Tuesday, March 18th at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm
INFO: Take a tour to learn how technology can support people with living a more independent life.  This is a great way to explore all types of technology that may be available to support with daily tasks.

DD Awareness Rally
LOCATION: Downtown Ravenna in front of Courthouse

Family Fun Day at Spins Bowl Kent
LOCATION: Spins Bowl - 2245 State Rt 59, Kent
DATE & TIME: Sunday, March 30th
INFO: Spins Bowl Kent (2245 State Rt 59 Kent) 3:00pm-6:00pm Activities available:  Bowling and $5 arcade card (for persons served or eligible for services only).  No cost for Bowling (2 game limit) and shoes, open to person served or eligible for services and up to 3 guests.  Registration required to bowl: events@portagedd.org Lane times available: 3pm or 4:30pm (limit one time slot) on a first come basis. Please indicate desired time.

We also wanted to announce that we are partnering with Akron Children’s to allow them to utilize our therapy pool.  They have already started doing so and will regularly begin in April coming 2 to 3 times a week.
